As Network Engineer you create, maintain and monitor the infrastructure of the Data Centre of our client. You jointly create the network strategy for the Group. You also take care of the documentation for the Data Centre infrastructure, for our clients Group network (WAN) and for the Data Centre network (LAN). The Network Engineers provide 2nd and 3rd level support and are the backup for Data Centre Service Desk.
You solve and track incidents and execute changes for the Data Centre and for the network infrastructure and document the problem solving. You provide 3rd level support and forward and track requests to parties outside the Data Centre team. You also contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of service management according to IT industry service standards (ITIL) including the service desk tool. The Network Engineers report into the Team manager Networks.

• An advanced degree in computer science or in a equivalent field;
• At least 5 years experience in network and systems engineering (in-depth knowledge and detailed familiarity with industry protocols; extensive experience in troubleshooting and maintaining infrastructure and networking);
• Certified in at least one major infrastructure, network and/or systems engineering discipline (e.g. HP, Checkpoint, Cisco, MSCE, etc.);
• Familiar with IT industry service management (ITIL, Foundation Certificate preferred);
• Good writing & communication skills in English and preferably 1 additional European language
• Able to translate and clearly formulate technical issues;
• Proficient in problem solving;
• Positive and constructive minded;
• Service-minded and focus on getting solutions;
• Flexibility to support 24 / 7 / 365 operations.
